New York May 1. 2024 (Saba) - New York Mayor Eric Adams announced at a press conference on Wednesday that the city's police arrested 300 people during pro-Palestine student protests at Columbia University.
Commenting on the pro-Gaza protests over the Zionist war at American universities, he said: "We will protect the city in cooperation with the police from those who spread radicalization among young people."
Adams claimed that "the government received a communication from Columbia University confirming the participation of saboteurs from outside Columbia University in the sit-ins."
"Yesterday we referred to these external players. who are trying to create chaos."
He also announced "the arrest of about 300 people participating in the sit-ins at Columbia University," and claimed that "there were no violent clashes between police and protesters at Columbia University during the dispersal of the sit-in."
