A Russian security source announced that Kyiv forces, after withdrawing from Belovody, lost control of one of the main highways leading directly from the border to Sumy.
Sputnik quoted the source as saying: "After the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the village of Belovody, the enemy lost control of one of the roads directly connecting this part of the front to the city of Sumy."
According to the source, Ukraine has been actively using this road to transport personnel and goods from Sumy.
The village of Belovody is located in the Sumy region, five kilometers from the border with the Kursk region. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of this village, along with the town of Vladimirovka, on Monday.
The ministry added in a statement: "The Ukrainian Armed Forces' manpower and equipment concentrations were destroyed in the areas of Yablonovka, Alexeyivka, Sadky, Pisarevka, and Osoyivka in Sumy Oblast.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' losses amounted to up to 275 servicemen, four armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles, four field guns, an electronic warfare station, and an anti-battery radar station.
