Moscow - Saba:
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov confirmed on Wednesday that the Ukrainian authorities are unresponsive to Moscow's willingness to resume the dialogue launched in 2022 to resolve the conflict.
Belousov said during a meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, according to Sputnik, "Russia has repeatedly expressed its readiness to resume the dialogue with the Ukrainian side, which began in 2022 to resolve the conflict. It has committed to the cessation of attacks on energy facilities announced in March." He recalled that Russia announced a ceasefire during Victory Day celebrations. Belousov added that Kyiv ignored these steps.
He noted that on May 16, contacts took place in Turkey between the Russian side and Kyiv representatives, during which they agreed to exchange prisoners, prepare proposals for a possible ceasefire, and continue negotiations.
