Tulkarm - Saba:
Israeli enemy forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 123rd consecutive day, and for the 110th day on the Nour Shams camp, amid ongoing escalation on the ground, the persecution of citizens, and the obstruction of their entry to their homes in Tulkarm camp.
The Palestinian News Agency reported that enemy forces deployed infantry squads this morning in and around the neighborhoods of Tulkarm camp and at its entrances, obstructing residents from entering to retrieve their belongings from their homes threatened with demolition. This was done by checking IDs and interrogating them, while randomly firing live ammunition to terrorize them.
Yesterday, enemy forces notified residents of 58 buildings in Tulkarm camp of immediate demolition orders, in preparation for their evacuation today. These buildings contain more than 250 housing units, and announced the identification of four. Entrances and exits are limited to owners of homes threatened with demolition. They were given a three-hour deadline, starting from 9:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., including the entrances to the Balawneh, Madaris, Hanoun Square, and Muqata'a neighborhoods.
The occupation warned that "failure to adhere to the designated entrances and exits will endanger the lives of violators," a direct threat to residents who rushed to the camp since the early morning hours in preparation for entry, along with support crews from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
In the same context, Israeli bulldozers continued to demolish buildings around the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Mosque in Nour Shams camp, as part of a plan to demolish 48 residential buildings in the camp to open roads and alter its features.
In recent days, Nour Shams camp has witnessed a demolition campaign that affected more than 20 residential buildings in its main neighborhoods, damaging neighboring buildings. This is part of the implementation of the enemy's plan to demolish 106 buildings in the two camps, amidst the stifling siege it is experiencing. The two camps are accompanied by occasional gunfire and explosions.
In a related context, the city and its suburbs are witnessing intense, round-the-clock activity by enemy vehicles and infantry squads. These vehicles patrol the main streets and neighborhoods, obstructing the movement of citizens and vehicles by honking their horns in a provocative manner, driving against traffic, and setting up surprise checkpoints, especially in the center of the market and on Nablus Street. Citizens are subjected to arrest, search, interrogation, and abuse.
Enemy forces also continue to seize homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, after forcibly evacuating their residents and converting them into military barracks. Some of these buildings have been under occupation control for more than two months.
Nablus Street, which connects the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps, has also suffered significant damage after the occupation forces placed intermittent earth mounds along its length a few months ago, significantly impacting vehicle traffic and exacerbating the suffering of citizens.
In addition, the Tulkarm Municipality has completed maintenance and paving work on a section of Nablus Street. Specifically, in front of the main northern entrance to Tulkarm camp, which was destroyed by the occupation during its ongoing aggression.
This was funded by a government emergency grant, which includes infrastructure work and the paving of several streets and intersections in the city and its suburbs.
The ongoing aggression has so far left 13 citizens dead, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens have also been wounded and detained, and the infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles have been extensively destroyed by demolition, arson, and looting.
This escalation has led to the displacement of more than 4,200 families from the two camps, representing over 25,000 citizens. It has also led to the complete destruction of more than 400 homes and the partial destruction of 2,573 others. Furthermore, the entrances and alleys of the two camps have been sealed off with earth mounds, transforming them into isolated areas almost devoid of any signs of life.
