Tehran - Saba:
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Wednesday emphasized "the Islamic Republic of Iran's right to enrich uranium."
In response to European statements regarding Iran's uranium enrichment, Araqchi said, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA: "If they mean to eliminate enrichment in Iran, then we have no issue to discuss with them, and we are not joking with anyone regarding the right to enrichment."
The Iranian Foreign Minister added on Wednesday, during his remarks on the sidelines of the Iranian delegation's meetings in Oman, that relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman have today reached the highest level of mutual respect and are based on common interests.
In response to a question about whether the Iranian delegation discussed indirect negotiations during the meetings in Oman, the Foreign Minister stated: "Of course, there were consultations in this regard, but the visit was primarily aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and signing joint understandings and agreements, and was not related to the negotiations." Regarding the date of the next round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, Araghchi indicated that the date for the negotiations will be determined within the next few days.
Clarifying his latest post on the X platform, the Iranian Foreign Minister said: This post came in response to statements by a British official regarding "zero enrichment."
He indicated that talks with European countries and the European trio have continued recently, but if their position is to "zero enrichment," then there is no room for discussion with them regarding the nuclear issue.
He added: They must clarify their position, stressing that the enrichment issue is not a joke.
