Washington - Saba:
The US Court of International Trade has ruled to halt the implementation of comprehensive tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump last April.
According to CNN, the court deemed that President Trump "exceeded his authority by imposing tariffs on imports from countries that sell more to Washington than they buy from it."
The White House commented on the court ruling, saying, "Unelected judges do not have the right to decide how to handle a national emergency."
In a related context, a report issued by the hotel search site Trivago revealed that tourists from several countries affected by the tariffs imposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump have significantly reduced their travel to the United States.
The data showed that the number of visitors from Canada, Mexico, and Japan has declined by double digits since the tariffs were implemented, while Germany recorded a single-digit decline in the number of trips booked to the United States this year.
