Sana'a - Saba:
Today, the Ministry of Health and Environment organized a solidarity stand in support of the people of the Gaza Strip and in rejection of the killing and starvation they are being subjected to by the Zionist entity, with American support and backing.
Participants in the stand, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Nasher Al-Qoud, undersecretaries of the ministry, and general and program directors, denounced the international silence and Arab and Islamic inaction regarding the daily massacres, crimes of genocide, and systematic starvation to which our brothers and sisters in Gaza are subjected.
They emphasized that the use of starvation and the denial of medical supplies to the people of Gaza is an unforgivable crime and a stain on humanity. They pointed out that the children of Gaza have not only died of hunger and disease as a result of the Zionist blockade, but that humanity, human conscience, and international and humanitarian laws have also died. A statement issued by the vigil, read by the Ministry's official spokesperson, Dr. Anis Al-Asbahi, emphasized that what is happening in Gaza is an organized war crime being perpetrated in front of the eyes of a world that claims to respect freedom, justice, and human rights. Thousands of Palestinians have been martyred due to starvation or genocide in what are known as "death traps," while thousands more await a similar fate amid shortages of food, milk, and medicine.
The statement stated that the death toll from the aggression since October 7, 2023, has reached 61,158 martyrs and 151,442 wounded. Since the resumption of the aggression on March 18, the Gaza Strip has recorded 9,654 martyrs and 39,401 wounded.
It indicated that the number of victims attempting to obtain food aid in the past hours has reached 87 martyrs and 570 wounded, bringing the total to 1,655 martyrs and more than 11,800 wounded.
According to the statement, more than five new deaths are recorded daily due to famine and malnutrition, bringing the death toll from the starvation war to 193, including 96 children. More than 100,000 children under the age of two, including 40,000 infants under the age of one, face imminent mass death within days, given the complete lack of baby formula and nutritional supplements, the continued closure of crossings, and the prevention of the entry of even the most basic supplies.
The statement reported that hospitals and health centers have recorded a daily increase in hundreds of cases of severe, life-threatening malnutrition in recent days, with no capacity to respond or treat them due to the near-collapse of the health sector and the lack of medical and food resources. The total number of deaths from famine and malnutrition has reached 193, including 96 children.
The statement also emphasized that the American aid company has become a criminal tool contributing to the engineering of hunger and the assassination of civilians, in a scheme that goes beyond starvation to the destruction of the foundations of Palestinian life as a prelude to the forced displacement project. The statement held the US administration fully responsible for the systematic war of starvation and genocide targeting the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, amid escalating Israeli aggression, the ongoing blockade, and the prevention of the entry of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid.
The statement called on all forces of the nation and the free people of the world to take urgent action and continue and escalate popular activities in various cities and capitals around the world, including more squares, and to organize sit-ins in front of United Nations headquarters and Zionist and American embassies, exposing their role in this organized crime, which is considered one of the most horrific crimes of the modern era. The statement also called for the world to hear a clear message: No to the war of extermination, no to the blockade of Gaza, no to starvation, yes to the prosecution of the occupation leaders, and condemnation of "the Zionist aggression and the policy of starvation and genocide against civilians in the Gaza Strip."
It emphasized the need to completely break the criminal blockade and to take urgent international action to halt this slow-motion mass killing.
The statement called for the entry of baby formula, nutritional supplements, medicines, medical supplies, and medical teams into the Gaza Strip, and for the immediate and unconditional opening of the crossings.
