Ramallah - Saba:
The Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO) rejected any attempts to reduce services or end the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Palestinian territories, stressing the need to preserve the agency's role.
According to Sanad News Agency on Saturday, the network indicated that the agency is being subjected to a systematic attack targeting its very existence, stressing that protecting its work is a national and humanitarian priority in defending the right of return.
It explained that the enemy's attacks are manifested in incitement campaigns against it, the closure of its headquarters, and the destruction of dozens of them through bombing in the Gaza Strip and the northern West Bank.
In addition, restrictions on its employees are part of clear attempts to erase the political dimension that UNRWA represents as a witness to the refugee issue and the right of return.
The NGOs emphasized the importance of the continuity of the programs and projects implemented by the agency in its areas of operation, within the framework of the mission for which it was established, which will remain in place as long as the refugee issue persists.
Since the beginning of this year, the Israeli government has banned the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Palestine.
