Nablus - Saba:
Calls continue in the occupied West Bank for the formation of popular committees for protection and guarding in Palestinian villages and towns, in light of the escalating attacks by settlers supported by the Zionist enemy forces.
According to the Palestinian SAFA News Agency, the head of the Beit Dajan Village Council, Nasr Abu Jish, warned today, Saturday, of the dangers of the recent settlement offensive against his town and numerous areas in the Nablus Governorate.
He called for official, popular, and factional steps to counter these practices and support residents in the areas targeted by settlement expansion.
He explained that the current land grabbing and expansion of pastoral settlement outposts is a real pain and a frenzied attack that requires the mobilization of all energies and efforts to confront it, and not to be satisfied with mere spectators and fear.
He said that the fire of settlement expansion will reach everyone, and that the enemy will not stop in Areas C and B, but will reach every individual and Palestinian area in the West Bank, especially after the decision to extend control over large areas of the West Bank, especially in the countryside.
He stressed that this poses a great danger, warning of its repercussions for the future of the Palestinian presence, in light of the organized activity of the settlers and the absence of any government support.
Abu Jish noted the danger of the settlement outposts in his town of Beit Dajan, where the eastern outpost has swallowed up approximately 20,000-25,000 dunams of the town's land, and the outpost on the western side is only 80 meters from the water tank that supplies the town, Beit Furik, and the homes of the residents.
The Ma'ti Palestine Information Center monitored 6,351 violations committed by the Israeli army and its settlers in the West Bank and Quds during last June.
