Geneva – Saba:
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) confirmed on Monday that "all Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are hungry, but children suffer the most."
On its X account, UNICEF stated: "Everyone in Gaza is hungry, but children are the hardest hit. As of July 25, reports indicate that 83 children have died from malnutrition."
UNICEF added: "Instead of going to school, boys and girls risk their lives hoping to get some food."
It stressed: "Sufficient aid must now be allowed to enter."
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Monday that deaths from hunger and malnutrition have risen to 147 cases, including 88 children, after 14 new deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours due to famine and malnutrition caused by the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation forces.
Additionally, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher stated in a Monday statement that one in three people in Gaza has not eaten for days.
