Madrid – Saba:
Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares has stated that the famine in the Gaza Strip, resulting from the suffocating Israeli blockade, is "a cause for shame."
In a post on "X" last night, Albares called on the Israeli entity to allow the necessary humanitarian aid into Gaza "without restrictions and continuously."
He noted that tens of thousands of people in Gaza are threatened with death due to the ongoing famine.
Albares affirmed Spain's readiness to send all necessary aid to the Strip, indicating that Madrid would raise the aid issue within the United Nations.
Gaza is experiencing its worst humanitarian crisis in history, with severe famine intertwining with a genocidal war waged by the Israeli entity since October 7, 2023.
Despite international, UN, and Palestinian warnings about the repercussions of the famine in Gaza, the Israeli entity has continued to completely close the Strip's crossings to humanitarian, relief, and medical aid since March 2, escalating its starvation policy since the war began.
Warnings persist about the risk of mass death threatening over 100,000 children in the Strip.
According to the latest figures, the number of deaths due to famine and malnutrition has reached 134, including 88 children, since October 7, 2023.
