Palestinian activist Awda Hthaleen was martyred on Monday evening after being shot by an extremist Zionist settler in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron, according to local sources.
Hthaleen was a prominent activist who contributed to the film "No Other Land," which documents the suffering of Masafer Yatta residents facing forced displacement, as reported by Palestinian media.
Local residents identified the shooter as Yinon Levy, a settler previously sanctioned by both the United States and the European Union for leading systematic attacks against Palestinians.
A video clip showed Levy firing shots randomly at the scene.
