Gaza – Saba:
Yair Lapid, the opposition leader in the Israeli entity, acknowledged on Monday that the war on the Gaza Strip has become futile over time, turning into a trap that kills Zionist soldiers without any political horizon or satisfactory conclusion.
According to the Palestinian news agency Safa, Lapid, in remarks broadcast by Israeli radio, stressed that the criminal Netanyahu government has failed in the war, stating, "What is happening is not a victory but a disaster."
He said, "Our army is stuck in a vicious cycle—we occupied Khan Younis and other areas repeatedly, only for Hamas to return each time."
Lapid argued that the solution lies in a deal to end the war and withdraw from Gaza.
Regarding the issue of captives, the Israeli opposition leader stated, "The strategy to free the captives has failed, as has the policy of distributing aid. Nothing the government has done has succeeded, especially preventing food and medicine."
He added, "Our soldiers are paying the price for the recklessness of the prime minister and his government."
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 59,921 Palestinian civilians, most of them children and women, and the injury of 145,233 others as of today. This toll is not final, as thousands of victims remain under rubble and in the streets, unreachable by rescue and medical teams.
