PYONGYANG August 26. 2024 (Saba) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called for the development and production of more suicide drones to boost war preparedness.

The Korean Central News Agency said on Monday that Kim supervised a successful test run of several drones by the Drone Institute of the Academy of Defense Science.

The test saw the drones fly along pre-determined paths, correctly identify and destroy designated targets, and have missions to attack enemy targets on land and at sea, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

"It is necessary to develop and produce more suicide drones of various types, for use in tactical infantry units and special operations, as well as strategic reconnaissance and multi-purpose attack aircraft," the North's leader was quoted as saying by the official Korean Central News Agency.
