A Palestinian child succumbed to critical wounds he sustained last night in Askar camp, east of Nablus.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced in a press release the death of 12-year-old Iyad Abdul-Muati Iyad Shalakhti, who succumbed to critical wounds he sustained from enemy fire last Sunday near the hill of Askar camp, east of the city.
Separately, settlers attacked the town of Surif, northwest of Hebron, last night, assaulting residents and setting fire to agricultural land. Security sources reported that a number of settlers attacked residents in the Watwat area, near the Beit Ein settlement, which is built on privately owned land.
The sources added that the settlers carried out a series of attacks against residents and set fire to agricultural land.
Later, enemy forces stormed the town and pursued residents who were trying to repel the settler attack, injuring two of them with bruises.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out more than 2,153 attacks in the first half of this year, resulting in the deaths of four citizens.
Settler attacks ranged from attacks on Palestinian villages and assaults on civilians, to burning homes, shooting at citizens, establishing settlement outposts, seizing citizens' land, and attacking their vehicles.
