Gaza - Saba:
Tahir Al-Nono, a senior official in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Wednesday that the movement has agreed to release ten Zionist prisoners held in Gaza to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid and a halt to the aggression.
In exclusive remarks to Al Jazeera Net, Al-Nono indicated that the current round of negotiations faces significant challenges. He emphasized that Hamas's position remains firm regarding the core demands of any agreement with the enemy, primarily a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and a comprehensive cessation of aggression.
He also stressed the importance of international guarantees, affirming that the United States holds the real leverage to pressure the enemy to end the war—if it possesses the political will to do so.
Meanwhile, a new round of indirect talks is underway in Qatar’s capital, Doha, between a Hamas delegation and an Israeli delegation to discuss the details of a potential agreement that would ensure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where hostilities have continued since October 7, 2023.
