Official data released Tuesday revealed that the annual inflation rate in the eurozone rose to 2 percent in June, compared to 1.9 percent in May.
Data compiled by the European Union's statistical office (Eurostat) indicated that the services sector was the largest contributor to the annual inflation rate in June, at 3.3 percent, compared to 3.2 percent in May, followed by the food and tobacco sector, at 3.1 percent, compared to 3.2 percent in the previous month.
Eurostat indicated that the inflation rate for non-energy industrial goods reached 0.5 percent, compared to 0.6 percent in May, while the energy sector continued to record negative rates, at -2.7 percent, compared to -3.6 percent in the previous month.
