Moscow - Saba:
A Russian law enforcement agency announced that the Ukrainian leadership is redeploying border guard units that arrested draft evaders on the border with Romania and Moldova to strengthen defenses in the Sumy Oblast.
Sputnik quoted the agency as saying: "Units of the 31st Chernivtsi Border Guard Detachment have been transferred to the Sumy Oblast. The border guards were carrying out a strategic mission for the Kyiv regime: the arrest of draft evaders on the border with Romania and Moldova."
She explained that the border guards transferred from Chernivtsi are participating in combat operations near the villages of Vodolahi and Kondratovka as part of the 103rd Lvov Territorial Defense Brigade, which is suffering heavy losses on this section of the front.
She added: "The Ukrainian Territorial Defense Command views the conscripts exclusively as cannon fodder and is sending border guards to the front lines."
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stated that Russian forces are currently working to establish a security buffer zone along the border with Ukraine.
Over the past week, units from the Russian Northern Group, in particular, liberated the towns of Konstantinovka, Maryino, and Lukhniya in Sumy Oblast.
