An Irish fighter delivered a powerful lesson to his “Israeli” opponent inside the wrestling ring, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people who have been subjected to acts of genocide since October 7, 2023.
Before the bout began, Irish fighter Paddy McCorry draped the Palestinian flag over his shoulders and vowed to defeat his “Israeli” rival in the ring, shouting, “Freedom for Palestine.”
Inside the ring, McCorry dominated his opponent, Shoqi Faraj, beating him soundly as the crowd chanted, “Freedom for Palestine.” The intense match ended with a unanimous decision from the judges in favor of the Irish fighter.
“Israeli” athletes continue to face rejection in various sports arenas due to the crimes committed by the occupation forces. Many athletes deliberately seek to defeat “Israeli” competitors as an act of symbolic revenge for the suffering of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation.
