Doha – Saba:
A well-informed Palestinian source revealed on Monday that the ongoing direct negotiations in Doha between Hamas and the US administration have made significant progress.

The Quds Press Agency reported that Hamas has agreed to a proposal presented by Steven Witkoff, US President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, which was conveyed through Bashar Bahr after extensive and in-depth discussions between the two sides.

The source confirmed that the proposal underwent substantial modifications before reaching a final agreement.

According to initial details, the agreement includes a 60-day ceasefire, during which ten Israeli prisoners would be released—five on the first day and five on the last day—along with the handover of 16 bodies.

The source stated that the US has pledged to oversee the implementation of the ceasefire, ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza in accordance with the humanitarian protocol signed on January 17.

Additionally, the agreement stipulates that Hamas and the US will engage in new negotiations during the truce period to reach a permanent ceasefire. This would involve the release of all remaining prisoners and bodies held by the resistance, in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners and the withdrawal of Zionist occupation forces from Gaza.

The source added that the US has committed to mediating negotiations between the parties during the truce to achieve a lasting ceasefire, including the final phase of prisoner exchange, a full withdrawal from Gaza, and arrangements for "the day after" and reconstruction.

The source noted that the stance of Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the agreement remains unclear, despite being informed of the US president’s approval. The source emphasized that "he has no choice but to accept it."
