Gaza – Saba:
World Food Program Executive Director Cindy Hensley McCain said on Sunday, "We have not seen evidence that Hamas is stealing humanitarian aid."
McCain added, in an interview with CBS News, that "people are rushing to the trucks, and this has nothing to do with Hamas or organized crime."
She emphasized that half a million people inside the Gaza Strip are suffering from severe food insecurity, noting that her organization will continue to provide food and supplies to help laboratories operate in Gaza.
McCain explained that the roads that could help her organization deliver aid are completely unopened, adding, "We can only do our work if the international community puts pressure on Israel."
She emphasized the urgent need for food to enter Gaza to avoid a devastating disaster.
Since March 2, the occupation has closed the Gaza Strip's crossings to the entry of food, relief, medical aid, and goods, causing a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy has been committing genocide since October 7, 2023, and has imposed a total blockade on the Gaza Strip. This has resulted in more than 175,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them children and women, in addition to more than 14,000 missing persons.
