Gaza - Saba:
The Director of the Media Office for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip, Inas Hamdan, stated that the new aid plan for Gaza is not consistent with the principles of humanitarian work.
In press remarks on Sunday, Hamdan said the new plan does not ensure a fair distribution of aid to Gaza's residents.
She emphasized that there is no need to consider new mechanisms for delivering aid to Gaza, adding, "We need 500 to 600 aid trucks to enter Gaza daily to solve the problem."
Earlier in the day, UNRWA stressed that the only way to prevent the worsening of the current catastrophe in Gaza is the effective and continuous flow of aid.
In a post on the platform "X" on Sunday, UNRWA explained that the residents of the Gaza Strip cannot wait any longer for aid to enter.
Since March 2, no humanitarian aid has entered Gaza. On May 4, the mini-security cabinet, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, voted to allow the resumption of aid distribution only under a model resembling the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
