US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will meet with Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the Pope's envoy to Ukraine, following the Vatican's announcement of its intention to provide a platform for talks between Moscow and Kyiv.

According to the US Secretary of State's agenda posted on the State Department's website, according to RT, "Secretary Rubio will meet in Rome on Saturday with the Archbishop of Bologna and President of the Italian Bishops' Conference, the Papal Envoy to Ukraine, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi."

The State Department indicated that the meeting will take place at 2:00 PM local time.
