Medical official: Israel orders execution of 11,000 cancer patients

Gaza - Saba:

The medical director of the Gaza Cancer Center, Mohammed Abu Nada, warned of the worsening health conditions facing cancer patients in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the ongoing Zionist genocide and the closure of the crossings.

Sanad News Agency quoted Abu Nada as saying on Saturday that there are 13,000 cancer patients in the Gaza Strip, including 2,000 who were able to travel abroad for treatment during the war, while 11,000 are receiving treatment in the Gaza Strip.

He pointed to a severe shortage of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, which amounts to a death sentence for them.

He continued, "Last Wednesday, we were forced to leave the European Hospital in Khan Younis and discharge all patients to other hospitals, following heavy enemy shelling of the hospital's surroundings and courtyard. The shelling was no more than 50 meters from the Gaza Cancer Center."

Abu Nada explained that some of the patients were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex, and one of them was immediately admitted to intensive care due to his deteriorating health condition. Others were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs and Al-Helou Hospitals in Gaza.

He pointed out that this will negatively impact cancer patients, due to the difficulty of specialists reaching them in different areas.

Abu Nada expressed his hope of being able to return to the European Hospital, amid fears of an escalation in the aggression.

He added, "Some chemotherapy treatments are available, but in small quantities and not for all types of cancer. We are trying to provide the best we can, but the conditions are difficult. Many medications and solutions are unavailable, and we are finding it difficult to provide blood supplies when needed."

Abu Nada appealed to the world and health organizations to pressure the enemy to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, open the crossings, provide health centers and hospitals with the necessary chemotherapy for patients, and allow those in need of treatment to travel abroad.

Since March 2, the Israeli enemy has continued to close the Gaza Strip's crossings to the entry of food, relief, medical aid, and goods, causing a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation for Palestinians, according to government, human rights, and international reports.
