UN Secretary-General António Guterres said on Saturday that the situation of Palestinians in Gaza is "horrible, inhumane, and beyond description," and that the Israeli blockade and starvation policy, which has continued for more than two months in the Strip, is a "mockery of international law."
This came in a post on Guterres's X account, accompanied by a photo showing the extent of the destruction caused by the Israeli bombing of a building in the Strip and attempts to recover civilian bodies from the site.
Guterres added that the situation of Palestinians in Gaza is "horrible, inhumane, and beyond description."
He considered the Israeli blockade and starvation policy against Palestinians in the Strip a "mockery of international law."
He stressed the need to end the blockade imposed on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza immediately.
The UN Secretary-General continued, "This is a moment to demonstrate moral commitment and action" regarding the situation in Gaza.
