New York - Saba:
Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher stressed that the United Nations and its humanitarian partners have the expertise, determination, and moral clarity to deliver sufficient aid to save lives throughout Gaza.
In a statement on Saturday, Fletcher addressed those proposing an alternative method for distributing aid, saying, "Let's not waste time; we already have a plan. This document reframes it, and it is based on the non-negotiable principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence."
He added, "It is supported by a coalition of donors and the vast majority of the international community, and it is ready to be activated today if we are simply allowed to do our jobs."
