Sana’a – Saba:

Yemen has presented to the Arab and Islamic nations—and to the entire world—a unique and exemplary model in confronting the powers of global arrogance: the U.S., the UK, and Israel. It has done so by defiantly and persistently supporting the Gaza Strip, which is facing a campaign of genocide and systematic starvation. At the same time, Yemen has achieved a resounding victory over one of the most brutal aggressions it has faced in modern history.

Despite the intense tripartite aggression by the powers of arrogance against Yemen, the country has never ceased supporting Gaza. On the contrary, it has offered a profound humanitarian lesson to the world.

This distant nation did not forget its duty, nor did it abandon its religious and moral obligations toward the greatest tragedy the world watches unfold every hour. While even nations that share ethnic and religious ties remained passive—including many Arab and Islamic regimes—Yemen made its decision, acted upon it, and achieved what no other nation has.

In the end, Yemen attained victory, by the grace of God and the wisdom of its leadership, over American aggression. After more than a month and a half of escalation, Washington relented and requested a halt to Yemeni attacks on its ships in exchange for stopping its aggression. In doing so, the U.S. effectively abandoned its support for its ally, the Israeli entity—the very reason it had launched its aggression. This marked an unprecedented victory for Yemen, one that will be studied in military academies and institutions worldwide, and more importantly, stands as a moral lesson for the global conscience.

Yemen, both its leadership and people, chose to continue supporting the Palestinian people and their resistance in Gaza against the Israeli enemy, motivated by religious, moral, and humanitarian convictions. This came at a time when all others, even the closest, had forsaken Gaza. While the world stood by as a silent spectator, hourly news reports showed horrific scenes of genocide—killings, starvation, thirst, and other forms of suffering. Yemen, however, refused to remain silent and took a stance—and proved it through action. Thus, Yemen became a symbol of victory and support, offering an Arab, Islamic, and humanitarian lesson in what true solidarity and humanity should look like. This victory, achieved in the face of U.S. aggression, continues alongside unwavering support for Gaza, defying a broken and retreating tripartite aggression through steadfastness, resilience, and determination.

In this context, the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, reaffirmed Yemen’s principled and comprehensive position in supporting the Palestinian people, whether through strikes deep into occupied Palestine or through the imposition of a blockade on Israeli vessels.

In a speech delivered on May 8, 2025, regarding the latest developments in Gaza and regional and international events, Sayyed Abdul-Malik stated that the Americans escalated their attacks in the second round with airstrikes and naval bombardment, but they failed to impact Yemen’s military capabilities or halt operations. They also failed to shake the determination of the Yemeni people, who continue to stage massive, weekly demonstrations in hundreds of public squares.

He added: “Faced with the failure to influence Yemen’s capabilities and unwavering stance, the Americans reached the point of offering to halt their support, as they conveyed to our brothers in Oman.”

Sayyed Abdul-Malik further emphasized: “Sacrifices made for the sake of God are not losses—they hold great value, importance, and bring meaningful outcomes. The true loser is the one who loses God’s pleasure.”

He clarified that Yemeni support operations, from Ramadan 15 to Dhu al-Qa’dah 9, amounted to more than 131 operations using 253 ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles and drones—all carried out despite intense U.S. aggression.

He continued: “This week alone, we launched several operations using 10 missiles and drones targeting Jaffa, Ashkelon, the Negev, Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), and occupied Haifa.” He confirmed that the strike on Ben Gurion Airport had significant global impact and drew widespread commentary from experts and analysts.

On Sunday morning, May 4, the Yemeni Armed Forces’ missile unit targeted Ben Gurion Airport with a hypersonic missile, bypassing all four layers of air defense systems. The result was airport closure and suspension of flights.

As part of Yemen’s escalatory program in support of Gaza, Yemen announced a ban on air navigation to and from Israeli airports starting May 4, 2025, until further notice. This coincided with the decision by several international airlines to suspend flights to and from occupied Tel Aviv (Jaffa), amid increasing warnings of regional escalation.

In support of Gaza, the military spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced that this decision was in response to the Israeli expansion of military operations in Gaza, affirming: “All Israeli airports are now within Yemeni targeting range.”

The airspace ban declared by Yemen following the Ben Gurion Airport strike was not just a media statement or political move—it was a direct response aligned with Yemen’s escalating support for Gaza. This consistent approach has continued through various stages of escalation, now reaching the fifth phase.

The Yemeni decision to impose an airspace ban found resonance with numerous airlines that suspended or canceled their flights to occupied Tel Aviv (Jaffa). Thousands of Israeli passengers were left stranded both inside and outside the entity, according to Israeli media reports. These reports also highlighted growing fears of increased Yemeni strikes following the U.S. announcement that it was halting its aggression on Yemen—especially amid the maritime and air blockade imposed by Yemen on the Israeli entity.

Zionist media confirmed that the situation at Israeli airports is becoming increasingly complex due to Yemeni missile threats. Channel 12 reported that the Yemeni Armed Forces are working to impose an air blockade on “Israel.” It added that the strike on Ben Gurion Airport last Friday raised serious concerns about the continued operations of airline companies.

The channel also warned that suspending airline operations could impact the entire summer travel season, delivering a severe blow to the “Israeli” economy.
