Gaza - Saba:

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor confirmed that the Israeli occupation army is committing a complex crime by obstructing the rescue of wounded and living people from under the rubble after a bombardment on the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The monitor said in a press statement, "Our team documented Israeli aircraft targeting rescue teams attempting to retrieve victims from the home of Abdul Karim al-Afghani after it was bombed last Tuesday."

It explained that the bodies of 11 members of one family were recovered, while 14 members of the family, including nine women and children, remained under the rubble of the house, which was bombed again.

The monitor indicated that residents of the Afghani neighborhood in Khan Yunis issued appeals for rescue after being bombed, but Israeli aircraft targeted anyone approaching the site.

He stressed that the ongoing Israeli bombardment has trapped the remaining survivors, leaving them facing a slow and inevitable death.

The Observatory noted that the occupation army deliberately prevented any attempt by rescue teams to return or even allow the victims' families to approach the bombing site.

It considered that "preventing rescue teams from reaching the wounded and injured constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity."

It stressed that all concerned parties are required to take immediate action to pressure the Israeli occupation to allow the rescue of those trapped under the rubble and to provide specialized equipment to remove the rubble of homes and buildings destroyed by the occupation army.
