The Board of Directors of the Executive Unit for Financing Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives in Sana'a province reviewed, during its meeting on Saturday chaired by Governor Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, a report on the progress of the Unit's agricultural projects for the years 1444, 1445, and 1446 AH.
Attendees, including the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Abdulqadir Al-Jilani, and members of the Board of Directors, examined the outcomes of the previous meeting and indicators of successes and shortcomings.
They discussed projects postponed from the Unit’s 1446 AH plan to the 1447 AH plan due to budget deficits. The Board directed the directors of the Finance Offices in the province and the Unit to review the plan, identify the causes of the deficit, and prioritize projects that address citizens' needs.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed an economic feasibility report on the project to enhance and develop value chains and added value for crops such as grapes, plums, apricots, fenugreek, squash, and strawberries.
The session also addressed the implementation level of the project to expand the cultivation of grains, legumes, and fruits across all districts. The Executive Director of the Unit, Engineer Ali Al-Qiri, presented a report on the Unit’s completed projects and the progress rate of community initiative projects.
The meeting also covered livestock wealth and the importance of maintaining animal health by establishing veterinary clinics in various sectors. Associations were mandated to complete the equipping of clinics, provide necessary treatments, and assign veterinary staff to each clinic.
Governor Al-Hadi stressed the importance of continuous monitoring and follow-up on the implementation of agricultural community initiative projects, with regular progress reports for each project.
He affirmed the local authority’s support and commitment to ensuring the Unit’s success in delivering services to citizens, thereby achieving the goals of the agricultural renaissance revolution in rural areas and moving toward self-sufficiency.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Local Council emphasized the need to redouble efforts to overcome challenges and improve agricultural services to develop the province’s agricultural sector through infrastructure projects in all districts.
