Sana'a - Saba:
A training program on food additives in food products kicked off on Saturday in Sana'a, organized by the Training Center of the Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control.
The five-day program aims to equip 25 trainees—specialists from the authority and private food industry companies—with skills and knowledge about food additives.
During the opening ceremony, the Executive Director of the Authority, Sam Al-Bashiri, highlighted that the program covers key topics, including the importance of food additives, their applications in the food manufacturing sector, regulatory legislation, and consumer awareness regarding food additives.
He noted that the program is part of the 2025 training plan to enhance participants' understanding of food additives, their classification, uses, benefits, potential risks, and methods for detecting and measuring additives in food products.
Al-Bashiri emphasized the need to strengthen participants' capabilities in ensuring the safe use of food additives by industry professionals, thereby guaranteeing food product safety and protecting consumer health.
He urged participants to thoroughly study food additives in products and verify their compliance with Islamic regulations to meet desired quality standards.
