Sana'a - (Saba):
The National Centre for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted continued rainfall and hot weather over the next 24 hours.
According to the weather bulletin issued by the centre, sporadic rains accompanied by thunder sometimes are expected in parts of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Dalea, Rima and Socotra archipelago governorates.
Sporadic rain is possible on parts of the highlands of Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, the eastern and southern coasts, the coast of Taiz, and the adjacent interior areas.
The centre indicated that the weather may be hot and dry in the deserts and coastal plains, with maximum temperatures ranging between 37 and 43 degrees Celsius.
He explained that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was measured at the meteorological stations in Socotra: 2.8 mm, Taiz: 0.6 mm.
Light to moderate rain fell outside the range of the stations on parts of Socotra, Lahj, Ibb and parts of the eastern coasts.
The centre warned citizens not to be in torrential streams and valley bottoms or cross them during and after the rains, calling for shelter from thunderstorms.
The centre also warned citizens in deserts and coastal plains about the hot and dry weather and advised against direct exposure to sunlight during the afternoon and to drink plenty of fluids.
