Taiz - Saba:
Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, met on Saturday with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Yemen and Humanitarian Coordinator, Julien Harneis.

During the meeting, they discussed water and sanitation projects needed in Taiz province, as well as other humanitarian requirements to address population growth and keep pace with the urban expansion witnessed in the governorate.

Al-Masawi praised the UN's support in funding the needs of the province's residents, particularly concerning water and sanitation projects. He expressed hope for increased support to expand service projects that the province lacks, in line with urban development and the master plan for recently designated areas.

For his part, the UN Resident Coordinator in Yemen expressed understanding of the issues raised by the Acting Governor, affirming that he would work diligently to mobilize the necessary funding to meet these needs.

The meeting was attended by the Director-General of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Taiz, Mohammed Ibrahim, and a number of specialists.
