Taiz – Saba:
Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim and Acting Governor of Taiz Ahmed Al-Masawi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several road projects in the province, costing 3.89 billion riyals, funded by the local authority.

Qahim and Al-Masawi, accompanied by Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Khaled, Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Zone, Taiz Public Works Director Engineer Bakeel Hameed, and Executive Unit Director Hussam Al-Fatesh, inaugurated the paving of six streets in Sector 4, spanning 9.7 kilometers with a width of 14 meters, at a cost of 267 million riyals. They also inaugurated the paving of 50th Street (Sector 3 network), stretching 9.2 kilometers with a width of 14 meters, costing 286 million riyals, and the project for paving main and arterial roads (Sector 7 network) at a cost of 500 million riyals.

Additionally, they inaugurated the restoration and asphalt paving of Al-Masimeer Street in Al-Ta'iziyah District (Phase 1) at a cost of 155.928 million riyals, the rehabilitation and paving of the main road linking Sharab Al-Salam and Sharab Al-Rawnah districts at a cost of 116 million riyals, and the construction and paving of September 21 Street (Al-Qarf – Al-Arakam, Phase 1) at a cost of 662 million riyals. They also inaugurated the paving of Martyr Abu Zaid Suwayh Street, approximately two kilometers long and seven meters wide.

Furthermore, the Minister of Transport and Public Works and the Acting Governor laid the foundation stone for projects to restore and maintain 60th Street (Phase 2) at a cost of 1.084837 billion riyals, the rehabilitation of Bani Awn Al-Makhlaaf road in Sharab Al-Salam, spanning 15 kilometers with a width of six meters, at a cost of 142.5 million riyals, and the restoration and paving of the main road linking Ma'awiyah and Al-Dhale' districts at a cost of 108.517 million riyals. They also laid the foundation for the rehabilitation of the Ma'awiyah – Al-Suwayda road at a cost of 20 million riyals.

Additionally, they laid the foundation stone for projects to construct and pave the (Al-Barh – Al-Arf – Al-Kadhah) mountain pass in Maqbanah District at a cost of 142.5 million riyals, the rehabilitation and paving of the (Al-Jawsh – Ma'awiyah) mountain pass at a cost of 16 million riyals, the paving of Al-Saraham mountain pass in Jabal Habashi District at a cost of 16.714 million riyals, and the paving of the main road in Azalat Al-Dhahrain in Al-Salo District at a cost of 19.623 million riyals. They also launched the urban planning project at a cost of 130 million riyals.

During the visit, Qahim and Al-Masawi inspected survey work for roads in Wadi Ali, Al-Qarf, Al-Maqashirah, Wadi Ali, and Martyr Al-Suwayh Street.

The Minister of Transport and Public Works praised all efforts made to complete these vital service and development projects, which will contribute to improving Taiz’s infrastructure and aesthetic appearance. He expressed gratitude to the local authority, engineers, and workers for implementing the road projects.

Meanwhile, the head of the Public Works Sector in Taiz emphasized the importance of the Minister’s visit, which will yield fruitful results in rehabilitating the road network, particularly 60th Street, which connects the governorate with several other provinces.
