Sana'a (Saba) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer sent letters of complaint to the President of the Security Council for May 2025, the UN Secretary-General, the President of the UN Human Rights Council, and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The letters include a briefing on the dangerous and disturbing developments in the aggressive US airstrikes that deliberately targeted Ras Isa Port with seven airstrikes on May 2, 2025, and two on May 3, 2025, Ras Isa Port is a vital conduit for shipments of petroleum products and cooking gas, which the Republic of Yemen relies heavily on to meet its domestic energy, transportation, and other vital needs.
The letters indicated that the US aggression is deliberately preventing ships carrying petroleum products and cooking gas from unloading, this attack has already disrupted port operations and halted the unloading of oil shipments, foreshadowing an imminent fuel crisis that will have dire consequences for the lives of civilians.
