Ibb - Saba:
Ibb Governor Abdulwahid Salah on Monday inspected the progress of the project to rehabilitate and maintain the main street in al-Qa'idah city, Dhi al-Sufal district, at a cost of $414,000.
Governor Salah, along with the province's mobilization official, Abdulfattah Ghallab, listened to an explanation from project managers about the level of implementation and ongoing and completed work. The project is funded by the European Union, as part of the UNDP's "Siri" project, under the supervision of the Tamdeen Youth Foundation, and in partnership with local authorities.
The project includes concrete pouring, curbs, lighting, painting, sealing joints, the construction of reinforced concrete bridges, and the connection of the sewage sub-extrusions to the main lines, as well as the construction of bridges, median strips, and sewage network.
During the visit, Governor Salah emphasized the completion of the remaining work according to the approved technical specifications within the period specified in the implementation contract.
He highlighted the importance of this project, which represents a major artery linking the governorates of Ibb and Taiz. The project had been suffering from severe deterioration of the asphalt layer and constant sewage overflow, especially during the rainy season. This caused significant suffering for residents and shop owners, obstructed traffic, and threatened nearby buildings with collapse.
The governor of Ibb explained that infrastructure development, including road projects, is the cornerstone of economic and social growth, emphasizing his commitment to implementing these projects to ensure better services are provided to citizens.
