PARIS August 26. 2024 (Saba) — Strasbourg secured a commanding 3-1 victory over Rennes in their second-round French Football League clash on Saturday night.
Strasbourg’s Andre Santos opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, and Emmanuel Emiga doubled their lead shortly after the break with a goal in the 48th minute.
Rennes managed to pull one back through Ludovic Blas in the 57th minute, but an unfortunate own goal by Rennes' Christopher in the 87th minute sealed Strasbourg’s win.
In other fixtures, Nantes emerged victorious with a 2-0 win against Auxerre. Simon Moses put Nantes ahead in the 14th minute, and Bahirba Guirassy added the second in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
Meanwhile, Toulouse drew 1-1 with Nice. Jonathan Clauss gave Nice the lead in the 53rd minute, but Toulouse’s Xavi Papika equalized in the 73rd minute, ensuring the points were shared.
