Meeting Chaired by Health Minister reviews preparations of Health Sector for Prophet’s Birthday commemoration

Dhale' - Saba:
A meeting chaired by the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Sheiban, was held in Sana’a on Sunday to review the preparations of the health sector for the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (1447 AH).

The meeting, which included Deputy Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Nasher Al-Qaaoud, ministry undersecretaries, and directors-general, discussed the ministry’s plan and the health arrangements for celebration venues in the Capital Secretariat and the governorates.

Discussions also addressed ways to enhance the health sector’s participation in this significant occasion through organizing various events and activities, providing free health services to citizens during the celebrations, and decorating health facilities.

Minister Sheiban emphasized the importance of active engagement by the health sector in commemorating the Prophet’s Birthday, promoting values of solidarity, cooperation, and compassion among health workers, showing kindness to patients, and alleviating their suffering in emulation of the Messenger of Mercy and Humanity, peace be upon him and his family.

He stressed the need to highlight the joy and spiritual significance of the event, embody love, loyalty, and adherence to the Prophet’s example, and reinforce Islamic identity.

“As part of the ministry’s responsibility to mark this occasion and fulfill its humanitarian dimension, we aim to reflect its values in serving citizens by applying the ethics of the Prophet — mercy, generosity, truthfulness, honesty, and dedication,” he said, noting that the ministry had instructed all health facilities to show extra care to patients, particularly the poor, and offer discounts on services.

The Minister reaffirmed commitment to these noble values, which serve the ultimate goal of protecting human health, called on all health staff and leaders to uphold these principles in their work.

For his part, Deputy Minister Al-Qaaoud underlined the importance of preparing for the commemoration of the Prophet’s Birthday — the birth of light and guidance that freed humanity from ignorance and servitude to others, bringing them to the light of Islam and complete freedom in servitude to God alone.

He affirmed that the celebration is not without purpose, but rather an expression of true faithfulness to God and His Messenger, and gratitude for one of the greatest blessings bestowed upon the Muslim nation. He urged all to embrace their responsibility in making thorough preparations for this blessed occasion, alleviating citizens’ hardships, and showing kindness to patients.
