Sana’a – SABA:
The Capital Secretariat’s Health and Environment Office today organized a protest condemning the genocide and starvation crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Participants denounced Arab and Islamic inaction and global silence in the face of the horrific massacres, genocide, and crimes against humanity in Gaza. They praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their valiant resistance against the Zionist war machine in defense of their just cause and their legitimate right to land, dignity, and freedom.
Director of the Health Office, Dr. Mutahar Al-Murouni, said the protest expressed the solidarity of the health sector staff in the Capital Secretariat with their colleagues in Gaza, and their support for the oppressed Palestinian people. He stressed that the Yemeni people will continue to stand by their brothers in Gaza, who are facing the most heinous crimes of genocide and starvation amid Arab and Islamic complacency and disgraceful international complicity.
Dr. Al-Murouni reaffirmed Yemen’s principled and unwavering stance in support of Gaza and the Palestinian cause, through various activities, military operations, and popular mobilization until the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza is lifted.
A statement issued during the protest described the events in Gaza as war crimes committed by the Zionist enemy before the eyes of a world that claims to respect human rights. It noted that thousands of Palestinians have died from famine and what are known as “death traps,” while thousands more face the same fate amid acute shortages of food, milk, and medicine.
The statement held the U.S. administration fully responsible for the war of starvation and systematic genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, in light of the escalating Israeli aggression and continued blockade preventing the entry of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid.
It called on all members of the Arab and Islamic nations, as well as free people worldwide, to take urgent action and escalate popular activities across cities and capitals, including sit-ins in front of UN offices and Zionist and U.S. embassies, to expose their role in this organized crime.
The statement described the crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza as among the most heinous atrocities of modern times, stressing the need to halt the aggression, genocide, siege, and starvation, and to prosecute Zionist leaders.
It also urged the immediate entry of infant formula, nutritional supplements, medicines, medical supplies, and medical teams into Gaza, and the unconditional opening of all border crossings.
