Islamabad – Saba:

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday called on international institutions and the United Nations Security Council to end double standards and fulfill their responsibilities in preventing violations against member states, halting the spread of conflicts, and putting an end to the killing of innocent civilians.

In a joint press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran and Pakistan share common views on regional and international issues, noting that security is interconnected and that developing relations is only possible through peace and stability, according to Iran's Tasnim News Agency.

He said discussions with the Pakistani side focused on condemning the inhumane crimes committed by the Zionist entity in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and the blatant regional aggression, emphasizing the need for an immediate end.

"We and Pakistan believe in the necessity of establishing practical and effective cooperation among regional and Islamic countries to confront the Zionist entity, and we discussed initiatives to activate this cooperation," he added.

President Pezeshkian stated that Israel's repeated aggressions highlight the urgent need for a unified regional stance to confront its illegal actions.

For his part, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Israel's recent aggression against Iranian territory, saying: "Israel committed an illegal attack on Iranian soil in June, and we condemn it not only as a government but on behalf of the entire people of Pakistan."

Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm support for Iran’s right to pursue a peaceful nuclear program.
