The Defense and Security Committee and the Services Committee in the House of Representatives held two separate meetings with government representatives to discuss the implementation of the government’s general program and the parliament’s recommendations.
The Defense and Security Committee, chaired by Major General Mohammed Al-Hawri, and attended by Assistant Defense Minister for Human Resources Major General Ali Al-Kahlani and several specialists, focused on the implementation of the parliament’s recommendations concerning the Ministry of Defense under the government’s "Change and Construction" program.
The committee praised the military institution’s efforts in developing and modernizing the armed forces and military manufacturing, noting the ministry’s level of performance in carrying out its duties.
The committee urged the ministry to intensify efforts to enhance readiness and vigilance in confronting the Zionist enemy and countering its schemes. It also commended the operations carried out by the Yemeni armed forces in support of Gaza.
Meanwhile, the Services Committee, chaired by Ali Al-Kaboudi and attended by Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water Dr. Ali Saif, his deputy Adel Badr, and several ministry officials and specialists, discussed the implementation of policies and activities related to the ministry and its affiliated institutions under the government’s program.
The committee stressed the importance of submitting timed executive plans and programs for all sectors under the ministry’s jurisdiction and providing the committee with these plans.
Discussions also focused on reviewing government service fees based on actual costs, while emphasizing the need for urgent measures to alleviate the burden on citizens by reducing water, sanitation, and electricity bills.
