Sana'a – Saba:
The head and members of the National Redeployment Team in Hodeidah governorate met today with the acting head of the UN Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), Marie Mascheta, to discuss the mission's work and activities.
Major General Ali Al-Mushki, head of the national team, urged the UN mission to fulfill its duties in implementing the Stockholm Agreement, which is fundamentally a humanitarian agreement.
He emphasized the need to support the Executive Mine Action Center to alleviate civilian suffering caused by landmines, cluster bombs, and other explosives left behind by aggression mercenaries, which continue to claim lives in southern districts.
Criticized NGOs for focusing on awareness campaigns rather than actual mine clearance, stressing that these activities should accompany demining operations.
Called on the UN mission to address:
- Military mobilizations by aggression mercenaries (including foreign forces and Saudi-Emirati occupation-backed factions).
- Reopening the Al-Saqam Al-Mahjar road, which was previously open for civilian movement but was attacked and closed by mercenaries during their retreat from Hodeidah.
Mascheta praised the national team’s cooperation in overcoming obstacles to the mission’s mandate in Hodeidah.
Reaffirmed efforts to bridge differences between parties to reinforce the ceasefire and reopen roads.
