Sana’a – SABA
Satellite-based maritime tracking platforms have revealed that ships from Egypt and Turkey continue to dock at the Israeli-occupied ports of Haifa and Ashdod, in violation of the navigation ban declared on traffic to and from these ports.
According to the data, six ships arrived at Haifa Port on August 1, including four from Turkey and two from Egypt. The incoming vessels included four general cargo ships, one container ship, and one cement carrier.
Similarly, Ashdod Port has continued to receive ships from Egyptian and Turkish ports, with two Egyptian vessels—one carrying cement and the other general cargo—docking in early August, in addition to more ships en route to the port.
Breakdown of ship traffic:
- 14% of vessels arriving at Ashdod originated from Egyptian ports,
- 14% from Turkish ports,
- The remaining 72% from other international ports.
Outbound traffic from Israeli-occupied ports to Turkey is also active. Satellite data showed 12 vessels departing toward Turkey, consisting of:
- 3 container ships,
- 3 general cargo ships,
- 2 bulk carriers,
- 3 car carriers,
- 1 oil tanker.
Meanwhile, Egypt maintains high-volume trade with the Israeli occupation, with 15 vessels departing from Israeli ports toward Al-Arish, Port Said, Damietta, and Abu Qir, including 14 general cargo ships and one container ship.
Israel imports a wide array of products from Turkey, including:
- Vehicles,
- Electrical appliances,
- Steel and precious metals,
- Crude oil and derivatives,
- Textiles,
- Construction materials,
- Vegetable oils.
It also depends heavily on Egyptian ports—particularly Port Said—for transshipment and circumventing Red Sea navigation restrictions. Containers are rerouted through these ports to reach Israeli destinations.
From Egypt, Israel continues to import:
- Fruits and vegetables,
- Canned juices,
- Salt, cement,
- Construction materials,
- Various chemicals.
This ongoing maritime activity underscores the economic normalization and logistical support that contradict stated regional positions on isolating the Israeli occupation amid its continued war crimes in Gaza.
