Edinburgh - Saba:
Scottish Prime Minister John Swinney described the war in the Gaza Strip as genocide.
"I've seen reports of horrific atrocities that bear the hallmarks of genocide, and I've expressed that," Swinney said in press statements on the sidelines of the Edinburgh Festival in the Scottish capital.
He added, "Obviously, not all of these individuals have been reached, but that's how I feel."
The festival was interrupted by several pro-Palestinian protesters.
During the event, protesters held up signs reading "genocide," and chanted slogans during Swinney's speech, before security forces intervened and prevented the protesters from approaching the stage.
