TASS, the Russian news agency, quoted Nikishina as saying, "President Putin's upcoming visit to China confirms the high level of cooperation between the two countries and will constitute a strong incentive for the further development of Russian-Chinese trade and economic cooperation." She stressed that contacts between Russia and China at the highest levels "demonstrate the profound strategic nature of the partnership" between the two countries and "lay the foundation for deepening relations in all key areas." According to her, cooperation between the regions of Russia and China has significantly strengthened recently and is playing a prominent role in bilateral relations. She noted that almost all entities of the Russian Federation maintain close relations with China.
Nikishina emphasized the importance of cultural, educational, and scientific cooperation between the two countries.
It is worth noting that the Russian President will visit China in late August and early September, where he will participate in events commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II and the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. One of the most important of these events will be the massive military parade in Beijing on September 3.
