Tehran - Saba:
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed that Iran reserves the right to resume its uranium enrichment program, stressing that the timing and method of resuming it depend on the circumstances.
In an interview with the Financial Times, the content of which was reported by the Iranian news agency IRNA on Sunday, Araghchi said: "We reserve the right to resume the program." Enrichment. The timing and manner of its resumption depend on the circumstances. But the United States must understand that it cannot destroy the technology by bombing. Through negotiations, an agreement that satisfies both sides can be reached. If the United States' primary concern is that Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon, that is possible because we are confident in the peaceful nature of our program, and we do not mind sharing that confidence with others.
Araghchi added, "The military aggression against Iran has proven the impossibility of a military option against the Iranian nuclear program," warning that continuing the confrontational approach will not only complicate the path of diplomacy but also destroy the opportunity to return to the negotiating table. Araghchi noted that Iran still possesses the ability to enrich uranium, and that this technology "will not be destroyed by bombing." He said, "Iran will not return to negotiations until it is certain of the sincerity of America's desire for a mutually beneficial agreement."
He also described Europe's activation of the trigger mechanism as "the end of its role in the nuclear negotiations." Regarding Trump's statement that if Iran resumed enrichment, it would be targeted again, Araghchi said: "There is no military option for our peaceful nuclear program. If they have concerns, we can resolve them through negotiations. We negotiated and reached an agreement in 2015 based on these concerns, and everyone was very satisfied. All Europeans considered this agreement an achievement of European diplomacy.
The United States also expressed its happiness and said that all concerns had been removed. The military aggression against our nuclear facilities and the blatant violation of international law proved that there is no military option."
Regarding the extent of the damage inflicted on Iran's nuclear facilities by the Zionist and American aggression, he said: "Severe. But we have the technology, and technology cannot be destroyed by bombs."
Regarding whether Iran would continue enriching uranium, he said: "Yes, we will."
Regarding when enrichment would resume, he said: "I don't know. That is a matter for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran." He continued: "The will exists. This is our right and our achievement. We have invested heavily in it. We have paid huge sums of money. We have suffered the pain of sanctions. We have suffered the pain of the assassination of our scholars. We fought for 12 days, and more than a thousand people lost their lives. Therefore, we cannot give up this right."
