Ramallah - Saba:
The Palestinian Forces Alliance announced its categorical rejection of the unilateral step taken by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to reconstitute the Palestinian National Council, both inside and outside the country, in accordance with the so-called "Settlement Project" based on the political program of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
The Palestinian Forces Alliance stated in a statement that the PLO's political program recognizes the Zionist entity and adheres to the "Oslo Accords," which surrendered 78% of the land of historic Palestine.
The alliance emphasized that Abbas's decision contradicts national principles and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right of return, liberation of land, and resistance to occupation.
The coalition condemned the move, saying it "reflects the continued approach of exclusivity and exclusion, and an attempt to impose political and institutional realities in isolation from national consensus.
This comes at a dangerous time when the Palestinian cause is being subjected to the greatest liquidationist conspiracies, through the war of genocide and starvation against our steadfast people in the Gaza Strip, the consolidation of settlement and displacement projects in the occupied West Bank, and the implementation of the plan to Judaize Jerusalem and divide the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque."
The coalition of Palestinian forces believed that the Palestinian people "are going through a phase of national liberation, and that the primary gateway to achieving true national unity is consensus on a national resistance project that restores respect for the Palestinian cause and confronts the occupation and its liquidationist projects, particularly displacement, Judaization, settlement, normalization, and liquidation, far from the approach of settlement and reliance on the international community, which has proven its failure."
The statement emphasized that "rebuilding the institutions of the Palestine Liberation Organization, including the National Council, must take place through a comprehensive national dialogue that includes all national forces, factions, and components, without preconditions, and based on adherence to national principles and the option of resistance, ensuring true representation of the Palestinian people in the homeland and in the diaspora, in accordance with democratic and consensual foundations."
The statement added that the Palestine Liberation Organization "must not be a tool for legitimizing the settlement, abandoning the status quo, and coordinating security with the occupation."
The coalition concluded its statement by calling on the Palestinian people and its vital forces to "confront the approach of exclusivity and monopolization, and to work together to build a unified national front that restores the PLO's true role in defending our land, our people, and our holy sites."
