Sana'a - Saba:
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and its affiliated bodies and agencies organized a speech event on Wednesday to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Zaid ibn Ali, peace be upon them.
During the event, which was held with support from the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund, Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Ali al-Yafei emphasized the importance of commemorating this great anniversary, which instills in people the meanings of sacrifice and jihad for the sake of God.
He pointed out the importance of emulating the morals and virtues of Imam Zaid, peace be upon him, and following his path of faith and jihad in raising the banner of Islam and supporting the oppressed.
The Minister emphasized that Imam Zaid cried out in the face of deviations and confronted the tyrants and arrogant rulers of his time out of a sense of religious and humanitarian responsibility.
He pointed out that the crimes of genocide and the targeting of stones, trees, and people taking place in Gaza are no different from the tyranny Imam Zaid faced in his time, but rather an extension of the camp of falsehood that is renewed in every era.
He emphasized the importance of everyone shouldering their religious and historical responsibility and following the example of Imam Zaid and the beacons of guidance from the family of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, in standing with truth and the oppressed with all available forms of support and assistance.
Minister Al-Yafei explained that commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Zaid, peace be upon him, is a renewal of the pledge of allegiance to God, His Messenger, and the beacons of guidance, and a living connection to the project of jihad and resistance.
He emphasized that Imam Zaid did not represent a doctrine or sect, but rather that his revolution came to correct the distortions and address the major deviations that had occurred in the reality of the nation as a result of the practices of the Umayyad rulers, their monopolization of power, and their oppression of the nation.
He pointed out that the Prophet's family represented the highest moral and ethical model, both in word and deed. All the prominent figures after the Messenger of God, may God's prayers and peace be upon him and his family, starting with the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (may God be pleased with him), Imam Hussein and Imam Zaid (peace be upon them), and all the beacons of guidance, adhered to the Prophet's approach of supporting the oppressed, enjoining good and forbidding evil. Many of them were martyred in this path, including the martyr leader, Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi.
He reviewed the most prominent principles and foundations upon which the revolution of Imam Zaid was launched, which is considered a continuation of the revolution of his grandfather, Imam Hussein (peace be upon them). He emphasized that the oppressors and tyrants attempted to obscure Imam Zaid from the nation for purposes that serve the enemy's schemes aimed at obliterating the faith-based identity, weakening Islam and Muslims, and sowing discord and division among them.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism discussed some of Imam Zaid's revolutionary struggle against injustice, leading up to his martyrdom in the cause of God and in support of the truth. He explained that the character of Imam Zaid, peace be upon him, represented a model to be emulated in terms of sacrifice and courage in confronting the forces of injustice and tyranny in every time and place.
He also emphasized that Imam Zaid acted in accordance with the Quranic approach and sought to mobilize the nation to confront the oppression of the Umayyad rulers. He noted that the free people of Yemen and its revolutionary leadership today are confronting the tyrants of our time, America and Israel, in support of the oppressed in Gaza, in accordance with the approach and revolution of Imam Zaid and the revolution of his grandfather, Imam Hussein, peace be upon them.
