Hodeida - Saba:
A commemorative event marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Zaid (peace be upon him) was held on Wednesday in al-Mina district in Hodeida governorate, organized by Riyad Al-Irfan School.
During the event, Hodeida Undersecretary for Services Affairs, Mohammed Suleiman, highlighted the importance of reviving the noble values for which Imam Zaid sacrificed and instilling them in the minds of future generations. He praised the pioneering role of educational institutions in nurturing identity and culture.
He stressed that commemorating Imam Zaid is not merely symbolic but reflects a conscious educational path aimed at producing a generation aware of its responsibilities, committed to truth, and supportive of just causes, especially the Palestinian cause.
The event included student performances of chants that reflected the spirit of the occasion and embodied the values of revolution and sacrifice Imam Zaid represents.
Following the event, Deputy Governor Suleiman and Education Sector Head Omar Bahr honored the top students of the republic from Riyad Al-Irfan School.
Honorees included Abkar Ibrahim Issa Shathli, who ranked fifth nationwide in the scientific secondary certificate, and Adnan Mohammed Ayash Al-Hammadi, who ranked ninth nationwide in the basic education certificate. Top-performing students at the governorate level in both basic and secondary education were also recognized.
The Undersecretary and education official emphasized that this recognition reflects the school's academic excellence and serves as motivation for other students to strive harder, thereby contributing to advancing education and achieving high-quality outcomes.
