Ibb - Saba:
A training workshop was held on Wednesday in Ibb Governorate to coordinate and unify official efforts for achieving sustainable development and to declare the year 1447 AH as the "Year of Development" in the province.
The workshop, attended by 120 participants—including governorate leadership, mobilization officials, directors of districts and executive offices, civil society representatives, cooperative associations, and the Bunyan Foundation—aimed to enhance integrated work among executive bodies , districts to achieve sustainable social and economic development. This includes ensuring self-sufficiency in basic food and pharmaceutical supplies and improving health, education, road infrastructure, drinking water, and relief services.
The sessions, attended by Ibb Governor Abdulwahab Salah, Governorate Secretary-General Amin Al-Warafi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment Mohammed Qatran, CEO of the General Foundation for Coffee Development and Marketing Manea Al-Asal, and military officials including Brigadier General Saleh Hajeb and Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Khalid, as well as mobilization official Abdul Fattah Ghalab, focused on the complementary roles of stakeholders in development work, training "Development Champions," and establishing cooperative associations.
The discussions highlighted the role of community initiatives in development, the efforts of the Zakat Authority in local financing, mechanisms to support local production, reducing import costs, and coordinating efforts and resources according to the value chain.
Governor Salah emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between official and community entities to achieve comprehensive development that improves citizens' lives. He noted that integrated efforts would enhance health, education, and infrastructure services, stressing the need to leverage local capacities and support community initiatives.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including:
- Aligning with the directives of national leadership and the government’s reform and development programs.
- Implementing workshop outcomes at the district level and linking strategic plans to road projects, agriculture, health, and value chains.
- Activating the role of cooperative associations and addressing their challenges, with district directors responsible for their oversight.
- Involving executive offices and associations in strategic planning and launching awareness campaigns on development and community initiatives.
- Identifying the top five dams or barriers in each district needing rehabilitation and preparing necessary studies.
- Completing the training of "Development Champions" and forming preparatory committees for cooperative associations.
- Evaluating the performance of district directors and relevant entities based on their implementation of workshop outcomes.
The recommendations stressed the need for unified efforts and resource optimization to achieve sustainable development goals.
