The Finance Office, Tax Authority, Cultural Sector, and the Executive Units for Real Estate Tax and Qat Sales in Ibb province organized a speech event on Wednesday commemorating Ashura—the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
During the event, Finance Office Director Saleh Al-Rassas emphasized that the Hussein revolution revived values and principles in the hearts of the nation, stating that the battle today has become one of principles and foundations, as championed by Imam Hussein (pbuh).
He noted that the tragedy of Karbala was not an isolated event but the result of prior deviations in the nation’s path, reviewing the difficult stages Islam faced before Karbala and the role of tyrants in distorting the nation’s course.
For his part, Abdulhakim Maqbil, head of the Cultural Sector in the province, stressed the importance of drawing lessons from Ashura to strengthen resilience and steadfastness in confronting aggression.
He touched on aspects of Imam Hussein’s noble life and the significance of commemorating Ashura to derive lessons of patience and perseverance in facing forces of injustice and tyranny.
Maqbil recounted the tragedy of Karbala, the bravery of Imam Hussein, and his revolution against oppression, corruption, and tyranny—highlighting how the greatness of the Hussein revolution is reflected in its enduring values, principles, and lofty goals across generations.
Meanwhile, Tax Office Director Muin Al-Shulaif emphasized the importance of commemorating Ashura as a call to action against the forces of arrogance led by the U.S., the Zionist entity, and their regional tools.
He affirmed that following Imam Hussein’s path ensures victory over aggression, no matter its brutality, stressing that commemorating Ashura reflects Imam Hussein’s place in the hearts of Yemenis and their commitment to his legacy in confronting invasion and occupation.
